Patricia Newman, Ph.D.

Dr. Patricia Newman is a licensed clinical child psychologist. She has a B.S. in Elementary Education from Creighton University; a M.S. in Special Education from Creighton University; a M.S. in Educational Psychology from UNO; and a Ph.D. in Psychology from UNL. 

She is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Psychiatry at Creighton University School of Medicine. 

Dr. Newman has been with Family Enrichment since 1987. She is previously the Director of Family Therapy Services for Catholic Charities of Omaha. She is a past president of Swanson Community Club; Jewish Family Service; National Council of Jewish Women; and the ADL CRC Great Plains Region. 

She is currently a Medical Consultant for the Department of Disability Determination Services for Nebraska.

Dr. Newman is the Founder and Executive Director of RESPECT, a not-for-profit organization that has provided educational theatre programs and services to nearly 600,000 students since it began in 2000. RESPECT’s mission is to build healthy relationships among children and youth through theatre and collaboration. 

She has been recognized as the Outstanding School Psychologist of the Year from the Nebraska School Psychology Association; she has been recognized as a volunteer of the year by the United Way of the Midlands for her work in cultural diversity and was a recipient of a Tribute to Women Award by the YWCA for her work in human services and advocacy. Most recently she was awarded the Nebraska School Mental Health Champion by the Nebraska Mental Health Association. 

Dr. Newman is currently directing her time and energy with the RESPECT organization.
